Like most entrepreneurs, Thurston has come across some challenges. In two years Candi & Co managed to open seven salons. This speedy growth needed more money for marketing, training and growing the team. Thurston says finding people who share and understand your vision is hard.

A traveling experience inspired a mother to start her own business. “I was a parent of two children at the time 2 years old and 4 months old, in South Africa that time I was relying on my sister on what to do because she has children, my mother, my in-laws, and magazines. I remember going to buy the maternity items such as bags before going to the hospital, I could not find things I want and others I never heard of, that is when after seeing the baby show in London I realized there is a need here in South Africa as well”.
Success is a process in which a lot of hard work is required. This becomes evident in the entrepreneurial journey of Lerato Dontache, who started her journey at an early age. “After acquiring my diploma i landed a job at a brokerage firm for two years where i worked on client accounts. Lerato left this job, and with a partner started a business called Nqaluv Insurance brokers. Six months into the business Lerato experienced her first business start-up failure.
