Mrs Sma Mathibeli, a 37year-old woman who was born and raised in Soweto, Diepkloof, then later moved to KwaZulu-Natal. Although she is also known for her previous acting roles on TV dramas Yizo Yizo 3 and Zone 14 etc and her work as a content producer on Ukhozi FM, She is a formidable businesswoman in her own right. Mrs Sma Mathibeli is the Director of Unique Communications (creative agency), Black Pride Media and a proud owner of Unique Lifestyle Café – an Afritalian Restaurant in the posh, leafy suburb of uMhlanga. 



She also serves as a Group CEO of a family Business, Calvin and Family Group, chaired by her spouse Mr Calvin
Mathibeli.
The Group has eight entities namely:

o Calvin and Family Security Services – Armed and Unarmed Guarding,
VIP Protection, Crowd Control
o Unique Communications: Creative Agency that specializes on
Creative Content Creation, Digital Printing, Events management and

o SA Precast and Concrete: Kebbing, Retaining Blocks
o Calvin and Family Plant hire: TLBs, Tippers trucks, Excavator, Lowbed

o Black Pride Media: TV and Online Production, Digital Media, TV/Print
Commercials Production and Photography.
o Wear It Manufacturing: Manufacture and supply safety wear products.

Mrs Sma Mathibeli’s passion is in women empowerment, which can be evidenced through her efforts in contributing positively to the company’s women empowerment strategies, particularly in areas that were previously male-dominated.
She recently introduced a policy in the company that unable the female staff to be provided with sanitary pads all costs to the company. These are made available at the office’s bathroom, and also kept in the emergency kit for those who work on-site
offices. Her aim is to see and experience more of this in other workplaces and public toilets being done because as women they didn’t choose menstruation but it’s a cost they are expected to bear for most of their lives.
